Dale Robertson, Truckstuf

Whether it’s Dodge, Ford, Chevy, SUV or Import, TruckStuf has all the components to upgrade a vehicle from ordinary to exceptional! Dale Robertson was the manager of Custom World, a retail truck and SUV accessory business for several years before its owner offered him the chance to buy the business in 2000. Dale has had thirty years of experience in the auto industry and wanted to use the existing business model, along with some enhancements, for his first time business acquisition.

In August of 2001 he completed the purchase agreement and changed the name from Custom World to Truckstuf. As a first time business owner, Dale was challenged with learning the legal requirements and setting up his accounting system for a start-up business.

Dale took advantage of his Chattanooga Chamber membership and attended Chamber workshops on starting a small business. The city of Chattanooga has offered few incentives to help bolster this new business.

Dale was attracted to the Hixson location, which is near his home, in a renovated bowling alley on Access Road. Because of the ready made market in his area for auto accessorizing, he would not be inclined to relocate his business, but he may be interested in opening up branches in North Georgia. Dale is actively establishing relationships with local truck and auto dealers as well as running a retail operation.
